What Makes me Different?
My name is Kyle Diaz, and I am a UX designer and Marine Corps veteran focusing on accessibility and interaction. Currently, I am a UX Designer at Kim’C Market, working on a new website I designed. I’ve also worked with other companies on problem-solving their services and products.
Immediately after leaving the military in early 2017, I did my undergrad in Computer Science, Computer Technology, and Business. I was studying to be a web developer, but I found more interest in designing products and solving problems that companies and users have.
I learned about the field of UX in my final year of undergrad. At this time, my advisor told me about their new program at the school involving UX. It felt like a eureka moment because everything they described about the field was exactly what I was looking for. I immediately applied and started the program because I knew this would be my passion.
I joined a startup company in 2020, intending to gain direct experience in UX while I went to school. They were willing to let me experiment and get as much hands-on experience as possible. I learned much about Amazon Web Services (AWS), Engineering, Designing, and building services and websites. With this company, I learned how to build a webpage displaying video content we created for school for their virtual graduations during the height of the pandemic. And I created AWS workflows using features like S3, Cloudfront, MediaLive and Media package to create our own live stream services for these schools.
I started working for a startup company called Kim’C Market in August 2021. I did a lot of analytical and high-level research work for them initially. But back in May 2022, we started a new project. I completed a website redesign for them. During this period, I learned much about project management, product design, UX design, and engineering. I conducted research,
I am currently looking for the next significant opportunity in my career. If you want to learn more about everything I have done, feel free to send me a message, email, or connect with me on LinkedIn.
My ultimate goal is to be a long-term Interaction Designer for a family-oriented company. I am confident in my abilities to do the following:
- Creating Wireframes
- Developing Prototypes using Figma for all devices; including mobile, web, or even interfaces on cars
- Conducting User Testing
- Providing User Research
- Collaborating, Brainstorming, Ideating
And much more.
Who Am I
Kim'C Market
Redesigning Kim'C Market
For the last few months, I was tasked to improve website speed and retail conversion rate at Kim'C Market. I acted as UX Researcher, Product Designer, and Engineer to accomplish this task.
Case Study is currently under development. Feel Free to Visit Kim'C Market to see the latest website I designed.
Redesign Tesla
Making Tesla More User Friendly
I spent months researching and testing Tesla Dashboard UI to develop metrics to prove that it is not user friendly. With that, I created a dashboard redesign that would improve that experience while maintaining Tesla Branding of Modern and simple.
BRIDGED XR
Helping People with Learning Disabilities
My collaborative Bridged XR Project was designed to help people with Learning Disabilities. It helps individuals learn school subjects more effectively in a fun interactive way.
Fun Fact: This project reached the Semi-Finals at the 2022 MIT Hackathon.
